hopefully this will help some people.
– you have to install am player just like how you install movie hd (probably through adb command)
– if you run into the error asking for am player to be installed when you already did:
1. close the movie hd app
2. run am player then re open the movie hd app
faced the same error with both mi tv stick and amazon fire stick and solve it with the above method.
